According to a recent article, a tragic high-speed collision in Rumford, Maine resulted in the death of a young boy from Hopedale, Massachusets. The Rumford Police Department reported that alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash. Emergency services were alerted to the collision just before 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, with reports of high-speed impact and multiple individuals trapped. Four individuals were involved in the crash: a Hopedale man traveling with his two sons in a Subaru Impreza, and a Rumford man driving a Volvo. All four sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Rumford Hospital. Despite efforts, the 8-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. His 5-year-old brother was transferred to a Portland hospital for further treatment, while their father was taken to a hospital in Lewiston.
